Programs at Ferry Beach
Ferry Beach is a Unitarian Universalist Camp and Conference Center founded in 1901 for vacationers, campers, and conferees of all ages. Programs at Ferry Beach strive “to celebrate, honor, explore, and enhance the values of Unitarian Universalism, in order to empower individuals to live those values within the larger community; and to support individuals in their personal journeys toward self understanding and spiritual awareness”, in accordance with our mission. Unitarian Universalist values are best represented in the seven Unitarian Universalist Principles.
For 11 weeks each summer, Ferry Beach hosts nearly 30 camps and conferences with a wide range of programs. Our programming falls into four general categories: Adult Conferences, Family Conferences, Professional/Church Development and Youth Camps. Summer conferences at Ferry Beach feature special programming for both adults and children. Each morning, adults attend a variety of exciting workshops while children engage in the fun, creative, supervised activities of the Ferry Beach Children’s Program. Afternoons are open for family time, the beach, exploring Maine’s coast, or curling up with a good book. Evenings are filled with music, dancing, games and conversations in front of a fire. You can come to Ferry Beach as a conferee or as a vacationer.
During the spring and fall Unitarian Universalist church groups rent the Ferry Beach campus for weekend retreats. On weekdays the Ferry Beach Ecology School leases the property for a weekly residential environmental studies program for elementary, middle and high school children. |
